Alright, this is another DIY card for my boyfriend. I can't remember how many DIY cards I've made for him already, there are Birthday card, Valentine's card, Christmas Card etc. He told me that he likes them so much and he actually keeps every single one of them, so touched. I hope he really did. LOL. Nah just kidding, I knew he did. =P
I know it's a cheap stuff, but it's not about the money, it's about the sincerity. At least for me, I mind about the sincerity more than the price itself. I'll be touched if someone made something specially for me with their own hands. This is a quite complicated one, there are many painstakingly cuts involved. It took me around 3 days to complete it because I don't have a whole day, I can actually finish it in a whole day, without any disturb. LOL. But if you really intended to make something special for your loved one, you won't care. I don't care, as long as he likes it. =)
This is the design I used, it's taken from a graphic design book, and I modified certain part of it. It looks like a bouquet of hearts flower. =)
The materials and tools that I used.
Tape, glue, scissors, knife, A4 size card and some color papers.
I love these colors. =)
I'll be using these 8 colors for the design.
( FYI, you can get these color papers at any stationery shop. But for me, I would prefer to print them out by using printer, this is a cheat a.k.a. short-cut way. LOL. =P ).
Noted down the specific colors.
I decided to do the big heart in the background first.
I sliced the paper into consistent strips.
Now pasted it on a plain paper with a heart shape drawn on it.
After it dried out, cut it down.
Now proceed to the "hearts flower", I traced all the shapes on a plain paper to ease me in cutting later.
These are the parts that I've cut down.
Before I glued them, I'll arrange them on the card first to plot the position.
Now, time to glue them on. Let's begin from the bottom part.
15% completed.
After that, proceed to the "hearts flower" part.
30% completed.
Done with the "hearts flower" part.
80% completed.
Finish off the top part, add on some calligraphy words and it's done.
(FYI, calligraphy can be written by using the calligraphy pen, like the picture shown below.)

Now you're done. =)
I decided to make it special for the inner page, not just by writing down a few words, it's too traditional. I'm gonna make it like the notes in the pocket. =)
First of all, take a plain paper and cut as many notch as you want in sequence and consistent gap so that they won't stuck together.
As for the notes, cut a fat T-shape just like the picture shown above.
For me, I'll sketch some lines on it with pencil so that I can write on it tidily in line and I'll erase it later. I'll write down the words before I cut down the T-shape too, to avoid run out of writing space.
Now turn to the back, you'll need to make a stopper at the back side too.
Just cut some paper strip and stick it on.
You can skip this if you don't mind the notes to be able to pull out, I prefer it to be fixed on the card. =)
After that, carefully stick the paper (with pocket notes on it) on the card's inner page.
Voila, you're done! =)
The cover.
And the inner page.
It's now ready to be presented.
I know it's hard but like I said, you won't care if you really intended to do it for your special one. Just give it a try, trust me, it's worth. I think that's all for today. See ya! =)
( P/S: To my boyfriend, thank you so much for everything. I can't describe how grateful I am, there are too many to mention. LOL. You really mean so much to me. Thank you! ♥ =') )
